Royersford green thumbs invited to shop until they drop

A plant sale offers an opportunity for green thumbs to add some new varieties to their own little garden patch, and one of the area’s largest will be taking place early this May.

Royersford gardeners are welcome to be among the crowd at the American Rhododendron Society public plant sale. It will be filled with plants that are well adapted to local conditions, and shrubs, perennials, and trees will be on offer.

During the two-day event. Shoppers can browse through the collection of plants that will be for sale, and many of them will be rare and not easy to find in the horticultural trade. There will be a focus on “rhodos” and also native plants, and there will be choices for everything from full sun to shade, and wet to dry conditions.

Dozens of species and cultivars will be included in the sale, and horticulturalists will be on hand to answer questions, make suggestions, and share their expertise. Entry to the function is free of charge, and all are encouraged to attend. Tags that provide care instructions can help to make sure that anyone who purchases a plant will know how to care for it, and these can be prepared for this sort of occasion by a printing services company.

The Jenkins Arboretum and Gardens in Devon will be hosting this sale on May 4 and 5. More information about the function can be found on its online listing.
