Royersford gardeners offered weedy workshop

Weeds can be a bane for many gardeners, but if they take part in a Royersford area workshop, they will learn how to keep them from their flower and vegetable beds.

The Jenkins Arboretum and gardens will be giving the gardening public, and anyone else who is interested in learning more about nature, an introduction to the world of weeds. It will address the topic from the perspective of the home gardener, and both members and non-members of the Arboretum may participate.

Learners in the Garden W**d Identification session will find out how to identify common garden weeds so that they can tell them apart from the plants they wish to cultivate. Invasive and banned plants are on the agenda for discussion, and everyone will find out how knowing the life cycle of a particular species may be helpful when trying to eradicate it from a garden bed.

Gardening is a hobby that can be relaxing and good for overall physical health. A workshop gives those who enjoy the pastime an opportunity to sharpen their skills, and a flyer printing company will be happy to help spread the word about an upcoming class.

The Jenkins Arboretum and Gardens will be hosting this introduction to the world of weeds on Sunday, March 19. It will begin at 2:00 pm and wrap up at 4:00 pm.
