Royersford families offered spots in car seat clinic

A properly fitted and positioned infant car seat is essential, and Royersford parents who want to make sure theirs is correctly installed have been invited to take advantage of a program offered in their area.

Safe Kids Southeastern PA and the Montgomery County Health & Human Services Department have set up an initiative that will be offered each month. These car seat clinics will be performed at the Limerick Fire Department, and timeslots need to be booked ahead of time.

The appointments will be facilitated by a trained technician who will explain how an infant seat should be properly installed. Once parents have learned how to do this, they will be able to install one in their own vehicle. Those who plan on taking advantage of this offer are reminded to bring along their car seat as well as their vehicle’s owner’s manual. There is no cost for this service, and anyone with questions can contact carseat@montcopa.org before the event.

A poster printing company will be able to prepare materials that encourage families to participate in community service projects in their area, and provide them with take-home material to act as a memory aid.

This initiative is set to be on offer on the third Tuesday of each month, which means next month’s session has been scheduled for February 21.
