Royersford class to build hummingbird buffets

With their bright colors, interesting flight abilities, and bold nature, hummingbirds are welcome in many Royersford gardens, and an upcoming workshop will help to attract these tiny Flyers.

Floral and Hardy, which is an area business that meets the needs of its gardeners, has a class in the works for early June, which will be just in time for the arrival of the hummingbirds as they make their way north to start a family. The participants will craft container gardens of annuals that offer the nectar the birds need to survive, while also making for attractive décor.

Those who are interested in the activity can choose to purchase a container on site, and are also welcome to bring one from home if they wish. The workshop will take place outdoors, and those who opt to bring their own planting pot can buy their plants separately, a la carte style. Gardening gloves are highly recommended, and everyone will be able to take their new mini garden home with them.

Organizers for horticultural workshops can count on being able to obtain a copy of any handouts they plan to distribute from a local printing services company.

Floral and Hardy, which can be found at 4007 Skippack Pike in Skippack, will be offering this class on June 2. It will kick off at 6:00 pm.
