Pollinators will be the stars of the show for a Royersford area festival, and one of its highlights will be the release of hundreds of free-flying butterflies.
Butterflies, bees, birds, beetles and other pollinators often go about their work unnoticed, but during the Butterfly Festival planned for Phoenixville, they will be taking the front seat. It has been scheduled to be held at Colonial Gardens, and the organizers are keeping their fingers crossed that it will be able to go ahead as planned.
The plans for the day will include time for the public to enjoy visiting the gardens, and a variety of crafters and other vendors will be showing off the fruits of their labor in the pop-up market. The function will take place completely outdoors, and anyone who would like to take part in the butterfly release will be able to reserve theirs ahead of time.
In response to Covid, the planners explained that they are hoping the function will take place as scheduled, but it may need to be adapted. A poster printing company will have an assortment of ways to spread the word about this type of activity to the public.
The Colonial Gardens Butterfly Festival will give pollinators a tip of the hat on August 21. More details as well as a chance to reserve a butterfly for release is available on the All Events In website.
