Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge will be holding its Mischief Morning: Superheroes vs. Villains 5K, Breakfast, & Blood Drive at the end of the month.
This may be just the ticket for Royersford area folks to round out the Halloween weekend. Proceeds will go to scholarships for students and teachers in its experimental and educational programs.
The 5K, directed by Chester County Running Store, will come first. Preregistration will include a T-shirt and a ticket to the pancake breakfast. Halloween costumes, especially the superhero and super villain variety, are encouraged. Top finishers and best supervillain or superhero costumes will receive awards and prizes.
Spectators will definitely want to have appropriately adorned Banners ready to support their favorite heroes and/or villains.
There will also be a blood drive. Those interested will want to sign up at the American Red Cross website.
Onsite registration for the 5K will start at 6:30 am and will be available for one hour. Adult registration will be $30. The opening ceremony will be at 7:40 am and the Superhero vs. Villains 5k kicks off at 8:00 am.
A Pancake Breakfast will run from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Tickets for just the Pancake Breakfast will be offered for $10 each. The 5K awards ceremony will be at 9:10 a, during the breakfast. The Blood Drive will begin at 9:00 am and end at 2:00. The event will be held at Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, 1601 Valley Forge Road, Phoenixville.
