Fundraiser helps local childrens hospital

The 4th annual Carnival for a Cure and Phoenixville Goes Gold 5K Run/Walk is taking place shortly. It will be a fundraiser for the Get Well Gabby Foundation, with funds raised donated to the Al Dupont Hospital for Children.

The carnival is set to feature amusements rides and games, a basket raffle, and costumed characters. Musical entertainment will be provided by artists such as The Odyssey, The Big Unkle, and the Fabulous Taco Brothers.

Several food trucks will be on hand and local vendors will be selling a variety of merchandise or showcasing their services. This year’s vendors will include Mary Kay Cosmetics and Usborne Books.

The Phoenixville Goes Gold 5K Run/Walk will take place at 10:00 am on September 25. Participants are expected to raise pledges in the community for the walk. They will receive a goodie bag and a T-shirt. There will be several awards handed out for categories such as the top male and female, best-dressed team, and fundraising award.

It is likely that this event will attract residents of nearby Royersford. The pledge Forms they will use will no doubt be supplied by a local Stationery printing firm.

The Carnival for a Cure and 5K Walk/Run will take place at Reeves Park, starting tomorrow, September 22, and continuing to September 25. For more information, contact Carolynn Vogel at 484-885-8264.
