Exhibition highlights America's best-known naturalist

The exhibition ‘Rare Bird: John James Audubon and Contemporary Art’ is opening at the Berman Museum of Art in a few days, and will continue until April.

Audubon is arguably the most famous naturalist artist in the country, if not the world. The exhibition will feature original works by him Audubon ,and the work of nine contemporary artists including Duke Riley, Edward Morris, and Harri Kallio. These other artists are seen as following the spirit of Audubon, and the works on display will include paintings, prints, photographs, and sculptures.

An opening reception is set to take place on January 29th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Other events taking place in relation to the exhibition include a Conversations series. On February 11th, Edward Morris will talk to Kelly Sorensen, and on February 18th, Harri Kallio will be in discussion with Edward Onaci. On February 25th, Robert Peck of Drexel University will give a lecture on ‘Audubon's Last Great Adventure’.

This exhibition will likely draw people from all over Montgomery County, including those from nearby Royersford. Those who work for local graphic design or printing companies may be interested in viewing the featured prints.
