Hermitage takes aim at archery camp

Residents in Hermitage and the surrounding areas are stringing their bows and fletching their arrows to get ready for Rod White’s Introductory and Advanced Archery Camps.

The two-day event gives an opportunity for archery enthusiasts to improve their technique alongside a medalist in the sport.

The camp is being personally taught by Rod White, a Hermitage native and winner of a gold and bronze medal in archery. His knowledge and expertise should prove invaluable to everyone, from experienced shooters to those looking to take up a bow and arrow for the first time.

The introductory lessons will be held on both mornings, and equipment will be provided for participants. They will learn about the different parts of archery through demonstrations, hands-on practice, and competitive games. The advanced lessons in the afternoon require the students to bring their own equipment. Here, the focus will be on improving existing skills as Rod White examines the participants’ technique and form and teaches them about proper equipment tuning.

Attending the archery camp comes with a free 30-day membership to Infinite Archery, as well as a T-shirt printed with a special Logo Design for the camp. Visitors will also get an opportunity to take a photo with White and the medals he won.

Rod White’s Introductory and Advanced Archery Camps will be held on August 10 and 11. Introductory camps will take place from 8:00 to 11:00 am at the Rodney White Olympic Park Play Field and the advanced camps will be from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at a location that is as yet unconfirmed. The cost is $100 for Introductory students who are between third grade and high school, and $150 for Advanced students who are age 12 and up. Anyone interested in attending should visit the website for more info.
