Hermitage hosts solstice celebration

The winter solstice marks the shortest day of the year, and a Hermitage gathering will celebrate the season in a special way.

The annual Hermitage Winter Solstice Celebration will be back for its third year, and Rodney White Olympic Park has been chosen to serve as the location for the evening. It will include traditional ways of marking the occasion, and all ages are welcome.

The fireside gathering will include a yule log burning, and there will be live music and other entertainment. Everyone can snack on roasted chestnuts served alongside savory brats, and warm drinks and treats will keep the crowd coy. A beer wagon will be parked on site so the adults can buy a “brew” to sip on, and there will be other seasonal favorites as well. The guests can all reflect on the year gone by and build anticipation for the one to come.

Communities all over America have special events planned for the winter holiday season. Local guides let the public know about what’s going on in their home area well in advance so they can build their agenda. These can be prepared by a brochure printing company.

The third Hermitage Winter Solstice Celebration will light up the darkness starting at 4:30 pm on December 21st. It is scheduled to wrap up at 7:30 pm at 800 N. Hermitage Road.
