Hermitage residents asked to be souper-heroes

When the summer season starts to wind down, a Hermitage area fundraiser will help to make sure that everyone’s pantry is filled with nutritious food for fall, and for the rest of the year as well.

The organizers of the Empty Bowls Mercer County fundraiser have rescheduled this culinary celebration to August, and as planned, it will give the public an easy and tasty way to support disadvantage individuals and families in their community. Tickets are now on sale to enjoy the experience, and anyone who bought theirs for the original date will have them honored as well.

Students and local potters have all worked hard to create an assortment of colorful handcrafted pottery bowls, and each ticket holder will receive one of these filled with chef prepared soup and freshly baked bread. They can then take the handmade container home with them to display and use at home.

Organizing a community based fundraiser like this can sometimes be a challenge, especially when it has had to be rescheduled. A poster printing company will be able to create materials that let the public know that, although the function’s date has been changed it will still be taking place which can help to make sure it will reach its fundraising goals.

This chance to help keep Mercer County’s bellies and hearts full will be held on August 20. It will be serving up the soup at 115 Anson Way.
