People in Hermitage and the surrounding areas are looking forward to the start of a new year of theatrical productions.
In 2016, young people are leading the way in the dramatic arts, starting with an all-teen production of ‘Zamok’s Castle’ by the Outta Theatre group.
The story follows two American Tourists who get lost in a Russian Castle. Along the way, they witness incredible events and run into a host of intriguing and comical characters.
The story is billed as being family friendly, so people of all ages are invited to attend. The play is written and directed by Angie Settlemire, founder of Outta Theatre and the director for Grove City Artworks and Theatre Camp.
Outta Theatre started in 2012 as a series of private theater lessons for teens and tweens in the Grove City Area. The group focuses on drama classes for children and youth, culminating in productions that run year round. The goal of Outta Theatre is to encourage creativity and inspire both individuals and the community towards their greatest potential.
Zamok’s Castle will debut January 15 at 7:30 pm at Mercer Baptist Church located at 908 Butler Pike in Mercer. Tickets are $5 for all attendees ages 10 and up. Children aged nine and under get in free. Full Calendars for both teen and children’s theater are available on the website.
