An event is coming up that will encourage people to enjoy the outdoors and have a sweet treat at the same time.
Rocky River Reservation will be the place to go to take part in a “maple sugaring.” Maple sugaring is the process of turning the sap of the maple tree into syrup and maple sugar candy. Attendees will learn about the traditional techniques used by taking a self-guided walk through the stand of maple trees, which is known as a “sugarbush.” After learning how the sap is gathered, visitors will have a chance to visit the sugar house, where it will be made into syrup.
Volunteers and naturalists will be available throughout the site to answer any questions. In addition, a food truck from Cleveland Metroparks will be at the event, offering treats for sale. Banner printing is often used to provide directional signage at outdoor events like this.
The maple sugaring event is available on multiple dates: March 6, 7, 13, and 14, from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm all days, and masks are required. The food truck will be at the reservation from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm, and maple sugar candy will be sold for three pieces for $1, or 15 pieces for $5, as long as supplies last. Vendors would appreciate visitors having exact change. The venue is the Maple Grove Picnic Area in the Reservation.
