Smart shoppers will have a chance to enjoy the outdoors as they browse for unique items in North Olmsted.
The Westside Flea is returning on specific Saturdays, at North Olmsted Community Park. There is a wide variety of products available at the market, including local produce, homemade desserts, handcrafted soap, home décor, and more. Shoppers will also be able to listen to live music, and grab a snack from any one of several food trucks.
Cathy Van Schoor, a resident of North Olmsted, is one of the co-organizers of the market. She said she realized the west side of Cleveland needed an event where vendors could sell their products. After two years in Westlake, the property they used was sold, so market organizers looked elsewhere. Of the three founders, two are from North Olmsted, so they looked for property in the city.
Van Schoor describes what might be a typical day at the market. Shoppers could begin by doing yoga, then shopping with more than 100 vendors. After that, they can patronize any of six food trucks for lunch, drinks, and ice cream, as well as popcorn and pastries for an afternoon snack. Balloon artists and face painters will be on hand, as well as giant games, plus there are alpacas to be petted.
Westside Flea will open on June 13, from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Flyer printing can be used to create guides for events like this.
