Pumpkinville in the Valley, an annual festival put on by the Olmsted Historical Society, once again drew crowds to the Cleveland Metroparks' Frostville Museum complex. Families enjoyed fine autumn weather as they took part in fun activities to mark the start of the holiday season.
The pumpkin patch, where people could find decorative cornstalks, hay, and pumpkins, proved to be very popular, with the pumpkins gone quickly. All day long, children could have their faces painted, and families enjoyed rides in horse-drawn wagons. The rides, which were sponsored by the North Olmsted Community Council, were available all day. Nearby, kids waited with their parents for an opportunity to take a pony ride.
More fun was in the offing thanks to the bubble creations made by the Angel Bug Balloon Twisters, who also played tunes suitable for youngsters that kept the kids dancing, even as the bubble machine kept blowing bubbles. There was also an inflatable castle for young children, while older kids could run an obstacle course. Live music that everyone enjoyed was provided by the Smokin Fez Monkies, and people who got hungry could turn to the North Olmsted Kiwanis Club, who staffed a booth offering roasted corn. The Kiwanis also offered costumes, props, and hats for people to borrow while they had photos taken.
Events like this, which are held outdoors, can flourish if organizers use colorful Banners, which are sturdy and reusable, to decorate the venue.
