Members of the North Olmsted City Council recently approved a job creation grant to be given to the city's largest employer, Moen Incorporated. Moen makes fittings for kitchens and baths, and has a call center in North Olmsted.
The $115,000 grant, which is performance-based, is contingent upon Moen meeting several conditions. First, it has agreed to keep a certain number of jobs—the number 200 has been settled on by the company and the city—in place at the call center. For doing so, North Olmsted will give some of the income taxes Moen pays back to the company. In order to receive the rebate, Moen needs to meet an annual payroll of no less than $8m.
In addition, Moen is required to sign a lease for 10 years, move into a 38,000 square foot space at Millennium Place, and make over $1.2m worth of tenant improvements. At present, Moen occupies two buildings at the complex, but this will be cut down to just one.
Myers said that having Moen consolidate its operations into one space will free up the other building for North Olmsted to market to other companies, which can help the city develop economically. The agreement will also accommodate Moen's immediate need for a facility improvement.
In order to facilitate marketing efforts, city officials might work with a brochure printing company to create illustrated Booklets to distribute to potential tenants, showing the site's amenities.Get a Free Quote for Booklets
