Fairview Park residents who want to clean out the winter’s clutter will have an opportunity to do so in May. According to a notice on the city’s website, the area will hold a clutter busting event that gives residents the chance to recycle anything, including the kitchen sink.
Participating organizations include a document shredding service, a textile recycler, and Habitat for Humanity. The city could work with a flyer printing company to create handouts to make sure the word gets out about the event.
All Ohio Secure Shred will handle the shredding, using a truck brought onto the site specifically for the purpose. The company ensures its customers’ information remains private, and asks that residents bring no more than two Boxes of documents.
Simply Recycling handles clothing items like shoes, clothing, and belts. The organization accepts a range of products, but cannot take large furniture and appliances, newspapers, magazine, cribs, car seats, and mattresses.
Finally, Greater Cleveland Habit for Humanity accepts items for its ReStore, which recycles and then resells reclaimed and salvaged tools, fixtures, and building materials, as well as appliances, furniture and lighting, no matter what condition it is in.
The recycling event is scheduled for May 10, a Saturday, and will take place in the parking lot in back of the City Hall, from 9:00 am to noon. The city asks residents to bring identification, and to avoid taking hazardous waste along.Get a Free Quote for Boxes
