The Greater Cleveland Food Bank has partnered with a local group in North Olmsted to provide fresh food to the community throughout the school year.
The Maple PTA Produce Market is a charitable group that provides fresh produce to those in need. The organization has given out more than 36,000 meals to community members and has served over 6,000 people. The group offers monthly collection dates throughout the year to help keep families from going hungry. Charitable programs like this can generate local awareness for the event by using poster printing.
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank started in 1979 after a group of like-minded people banded together to combat local hunger problems. The organization is the largest food bank in Northeast Ohio and has helped serve more than 350,000 people in counties like Richland, Ashtabula, and Ashland. The group also offers shelters and programs for the elderly. Those interested in supporting the organization’s efforts can become a volunteer.
The next Maple PTA Produce Market will be held next Tuesday, December 15, with the following dates being January 26th and February 23rd. The market will be held at the Maple Intermediate School from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. People can help support local food banks by donating. The six most needed food items are beef stew, cereal, peanut butter, soup, canned veggies, and canned tuna.
