Sugardaddys on the shelves again
A Lewis Center-based company is making a comeback after some rough times.
Sugardaddy’s Sumptuous Sweeties, owned by Lisa Anglim, has lost its lease, suffered a break-in, had premises destroyed in a fire. In spite of it all, Anglim is now once again providing sweet treats to happy customers, though its operation is a little different.
Sugardaddy’s makes blondies, brownies, and other goodies, and had its own premises on Gay Street in Columbus, which were consumed by fire. Now, the street will continue to see its treats, but through other vendors.
The first is J. Gumbo’s, located at 31 East Gay Street in Columbus; Gumbo’s is directly across the street from the now destroyed Sugardaddy’s location. The restaurant is selling Sugardaddy’s items both as retail sales, and as part of its dessert menu. The restaurant, which is a fast and casual creole and Cajun place, stocks Sugardaddy’s cheesecakes, biscotti, blondies, truffles, brownies, and Pocket Change.
The second location is ‘Celebrate Local’ on Towns Fair Way in Columbus. Sugardaddy’s had an operation here too, until last year. Celebrate Local, as the name implies, specializes in products made in Ohio, and plans to carry most of the same items as Gumbo’s. Customers can also place special orders for the sweets.
Anglim might consider working with a flyer printing company on a handout, including a coupon, to invite customers to try Sugardaddy’s products.
