Lewis Center welcomes flavorsome arrival
Bob Bridges, who operates a Dickey's Barbeque Pit in Delaware, Ohio, has just opened a second location in Lewis Center.
According to a BizJournals.com article, the chain is one of the most rapidly growing in the country, but Bridges is not in any hurry to jump on the bandwagon. He opened his Lewis Center site on November 6 because his first Ohio store is doing well, and because there are a number of high quality retailers in the area.
Dickey's is based in Dallas, and has more than 450 locations in some 42 states. When Bridges opened his first restaurant in Delaware, just three years ago, there were only 156 restaurants in the chain. The rapidity of the concept's growth has brought it to the attention of such publications as Nation's Restaurant News.
Dickey's specialty is barbeque cooked in Texas style. Some of the most popular entrees include port, brisket, and ribs, which are smoked every day in the store. The in-house smoking, Bridges believes, gives the meat a unique flavor.
The Lewis Center operation comprises 2,000 square feet, and can seat as many as 45 patrons. The store held opening weekend celebrations to commemorate its arrival in Lewis Center.
Bridges might consider working with flyer printers to create a handout, complete with a coupon, for distribution near the store. This would continue the excitement of the opening for several more days.
