Lewis Center group to give engine maintenance tips
America’s Boating Club of Central Ohio will be holding a course in Lewis Center to teach people about a crucial part of the hobby.
The Engine Maintenance class is a program where boat owners can learn about the basics of engine layouts and the importance of how to diagnose mechanical problems properly. The lesson will go over topics like steering systems, engine controls, and propellers. Attendees will also be told how to share information with mechanics to ensure the right repairs are performed on the boat. Educational activities like this can be advertised to communities by using poster printing.
America’s Boating Club of Central Ohio is a non-profit group that began in 1940. The organization was originally known as the Columbus Sail & Power Squadron. There are more than 200 members in the club. Those in the group help promote boat safety by working with other organizations such as the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Watercraft Division. Club members also go on cruises together during the summer.
The maintenance class will occur on November 1 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The lesson is open to the public and will cost $55 for members of America’s Boating Club of Central Ohio. Non-members must pay $85 instead. People who want a complete list of programs offered by the organization can find a calendar on the group’s website.
