A set of glasses, complete with original Lancaster logos designed by Lohcal Apparel Union, can now be purchased.
The glasses were a donation from Anchor Hocking, which has been in business in Lancaster since 1905, and are on sale at Keller Market House. WestRock, a local corrugated cardboard company, designed and manufactured the gift Boxes. The price for the set of five glasses is $35.
This unique custom Drinkware will be on sale at locations throughout Lancaster during the entire Christmas season. All the proceeds from the sale of the glassware will go to pay for a public art project that will honor the glass industry, and its significance to the community. There are no details yet on what the art project will contain.
The glass sale was the brainchild of Nathan Downour of Lohcal, who went to Anchor Hocking with his idea. The company agreed to support the cause by donating 10,000 glasses. Downour says his project is in response to the publication of the book ‘Glass House’ which painted Lancaster in negative terms. By designing the glasses, he hopes to show the pride he and others have in their community.
Speaking for the organization that develops Lancaster’s downtown, Amada Everitt said the book’s publication had an unexpected effect; it inspired people to celebrate the glass industry, and will ultimately result in an art project.Get a Free Quote for Drinkware Get a Free Quote for Boxes Get a Free Quote for Apparel
