An event to raise money for an unusual cause has been scheduled in Lancaster.
The 2021 Hank Kabel Sarcoma 5K Walk/Run is an event designed to raise funds to assist the Hank Kabel Sarcoma Foundation, and to raise awareness about canine cancer, which claimed Hank Kabel’s life. Hank was the beloved pet of Dr. Amy Kabel, who created the foundation with the help of others who had lost dogs to cancer, in order to combat the disease.
The event is a 5K walk/run with registration from 7.30 am until 8.30 am; an opening ceremony at 8.30 am; and the race itself starting at 9.00 am. Vendors will be on site during the entire event, and people are welcome to spend the entire day enjoying the entertainment, exhibits, raffles, silent auctions, food, and vendors of all kinds. The race winners, as well as the teams that raise the greatest amount of money, will win prizes. Banner printing can be used to create signage that marks the course for events like this.
The event is set for July 10 at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster. The entry fee is $30 per person, and is non-refundable, but people registering on race day will need to write a check or pay case; no cards accepted. Details may change as the date gets closer, and it will go ahead, rain or shine.
