Boardman to hold early Christmas-themed concert

The Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley will be organizing a concert in Boardman, celebrating the festive season several months early.

Christmas in July with the Youngstown Area Community Concert Band (YACCB) and Friends is a program that invites people to enjoy live music while helping a local food bank stock up on supplies. Before the concert begins, the organizers will collect dry and canned goods from the audience. There will also be a performance from the Canfield Community Band during the event. The YACCB is conducted by Joe Pellegrini, and the Canfield Community Band is directed by Eric Bable.

The Second Harvest Food Bank is an organization that aims to help every demographic throughout Mahoning Valley. The group stores and distributes food to local hunger-relief organizations. Last year, the food bank provided nine and a half million pounds of food to children, seniors, and families in the community. The organization works with more than 160 partner agencies throughout Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull County.

The concert will be held on July 23 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, and the event will take place at Boardman Park. Registration is not required to attend the food bank’s program. Those who wish to get involved with the group may help with data entry, packing food, and answering phones. Hunger-relief organizations similar to this may use printing services to advertise their community events.
