A fundraising 5K will return to Boardman in June to help the Neurofibromatosis Network fund its research and support services.
The 12th Annual #NFStrong 5K for Neurofibromatosis is a program that invites the community to raise money for those impacted by neurofibromatosis. The walk will begin at Boardman Park’s Master Pavilion. Companies interested in helping the cause can sponsor the 5K. The packages for #NFStrong range from $250 to $5,000 and will include benefits such as getting a framed certificate, social media shoutouts, and logo recognition on the walk’s website.
The Neurofibromatosis Network is an organization that works toward finding a cure for the condition while holding programs that increase awareness for neurofibromatosis. The network works with other groups like the National Institutes of Health and creates educational materials for physicians and the general public. The organization holds group meetings for those with the condition and connects patients with knowledgeable physicians in their areas. Kim Bischoff is the group’s executive director.
The walk will be on Saturday, June 29th from 9:00 am to noon. The cost to participate in the event is $20 for adults and $12 for kids ages 4-11. Children who are three or younger can pay $6 to join the walk.
