Boardman High School will be hosting a community activity in May to raise awareness for a youth racing program.
Families can take part in a non-competitive physical activity held at Boardman High School to celebrate Fast Feet Youngstown. The program promotes youth health by organizing fun and encouraging events for students enrolled in kindergarten to the 6th grade. Racers will be using the paved roads and sidewalks found around the school to complete the course. All participants will get a limited edition tee for registering and a finisher’s medal for completing the route.
The main sponsor for the program is Second Sole Racing, a professional race timing company that was established in 2014. The group is based in Youngstown and provides its services to facilities in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Race organizers can rent digital clocks, cones, mile markers, and bib numbers from the company. Many events have utilized the organization, like the Reach for Hope 5K, Mill Creek Distance Classic, and Renovatio's Peace Officers Memorial Day 5K.
The high school's mile-long race will take place on Sunday, May 29 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The registration price for the event will cost participants $25. People can receive a discount for the program by registering before May 15. Race coordinators for activities such as this can improve their program's visibility with banner printing.
