Boardman program to help people cope with grief

Boardman locals looking for assistance with handling grief can attend a virtual presentation in January.

Grief 101 is a program offered by The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County where people can learn how to cope with the negative emotions associated with grief. The lesson will be led by Kim Calhoun, a Bereavement Facilitator who works at the Hospice of the Valley. She will demonstrate a few steps people can take to regain a sense of peace. Literature about grief and information about the grieving process will also be discussed during the program.

Hospice of the Valley is a service in Mahoning County that assists those suffering from terminal ailments. Employees from the organization are available to answer questions for caregivers and provide support to help patients and their loved ones cope with any stress. The group can assist people with pain management, personal hygiene care, and emotional support. Organizations offering services like these may communicate them to patients using brochure printing.

The program on grief will take place on Thursday, January 27th from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Guests must register with an email address to be sent an invite to the meeting room. Those who participate in the session are not required to appear on camera and may stay anonymous. Registration for the session will open on December 27th.
