Boardman park to conduct winter hikes

Those interested in learning about nature can attend two hikes in December offered at Mill Creek Park in Boardman.

Mill Creek Park will be organizing a night-time trek and a tree identification hike for people who wish to know more about local plants and wildlife. The Full Moon Hike is a moderate two-mile journey, and the Winter Tree I.D. Hike is a manageable quarter-mile trek. Participants in either hike are asked to put a mask over their face if they have not been given the COVID-19 vaccine yet. Both events are led by a knowledgeable educator from the park.

Mill Creek Metroparks was first established during the 1890s and consists of 10 facilities, such as the Mill Creek Golf Course and Judge Morley Performing Arts Pavilion. The organization takes care of 4,500 acres. The parks offer guests amenities like boat rentals, picnic tables, and restrooms. People can sign up to become volunteers for Mill Creek Metroparks to help the group with their events. Organizations similar to this can advertise their planned activities by using printing services.

The Full Moon Hike will be held on December 19 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, and the Winter Tree I.D. Hike will take place on December 29 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Registration is requested for both activities, though walk-ins will be welcome to join the treks.
