Lanterman’s Mill in Boardman will organize an event in November and December where the community can celebrate the holidays.
Christmas at Lanterman’s Mill is a two-day experience that invites people to enjoy holiday-themed activities at one of Boardman’s notable historic landmarks. Attendees can browse a juried selection of vendors at the mill and watch crafting demonstrations. The organizers of the party will provide fire-roasted chestnuts. People can also purchase refreshments from food trucks. Santa will come to the mill on both days of the Christmas celebration.
Lanterman’s Mill is a structure that was built by German Lanterman and Samuel Kimberly during the 1840s. The building was later restored in the 1980s by the Ward and Florence Beecher Foundations. The mill is home to a gift shop with Mill Creek MetroParks-branded merchandise for adults and children. People can also buy whole wheat and stone-ground buckwheat flour at the shop. Those interested in going on informational tours of the structure can pay $3.
The Christmas-themed event at Lanterman’s Mill will be held on November 30th and December 1st from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Residents of Mahoning County can pay $2 to visit the landmark, and non-residents can pay $3. Seniors and students may visit the structure for $1. Local landmarks that host similar parties to this may use flyer printing to promote their celebrations.
