Residents of Boardman and the surrounding area who love spending time in the great outdoors have been enjoying the recent mild temperatures and using them to their full advantage.
People have been using the unseasonably warm weather to do yard work, or take a hike along one of the community’s trails. The warm spell is especially appreciated by those who prefer to spend their time out on the links taking in a round or two of golf.
The temperatures have been a record high, and the National Weather Service noted that a high of 61°F was reached in the local area, which broke the former one of 60°F that was set on the same date back in 1991. Golf courses and other locations where people can engage in outdoor activities can use Flyers and other printed items to let the public know that they are still open for business, and that they are invited to come out and enjoy themselves.
The pleasant temperatures were expected to continue. The deputy director of the NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, Mike Halpert, remarked that though this is an El Nino year, that cannot be considered the cause of this unexpected stretch of high temperatures just yet. He noted that the more likely cause is the North Atlantic Oscillation weather pattern that is currently affecting the region, and could do so for the near future.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
