Double Bogey’s in Boardman will be hosting a competition in September to benefit two local organizations.
The Rock the Ages: Longest Drive Contest is a community event where people can support local seniors while enjoying the amenities at Double Bogey’s Bar & Grill. Those interested in participating in the golfing event can pay $5 for three strokes. The organizations benefiting from the activity will include Paisley House Assisted Living and the Senior Support Action Group.
The Paisley House is a facility that offers enriching activities and housing to seniors. The organization was founded in 1909, and its board of directors is made up of volunteers. The Paisley Pal Program partners board members with one of the home’s residents to provide them with regular visits.
The Senior Support Action Group is a program that improves the quality of life of homebound seniors by providing them with helpful services. The Monthly Mobile Food Pantry gives out supplemental food Boxes, and the organization’s Phone Pals program has volunteers make weekly wellness calls to seniors.
The longest drive contest will be held on Saturday, September 23 from noon to 6:00 pm. The event is open to all ages, and the winner of the golfing competition will get a grand prize. Those who hold benefit events such as this may use poster printing to encourage more people to attend the activities.
