New restaurant opens in Hicksville

The Pasquarosa family has a pizzeria up and running in Huntington Station, and has now opened a second location in Hicksville, according to an article in Newsday.

Monaco’s Pizzeria & Restaurant features a cozy dining room, seating at the height of the bar, and a brick pizza oven that is powered by gas. According to Andy Pasquarosa, gas is “greener and cleaner.”

The pizza ovens, which are the centerpiece of the shop, are double-deckers made by Marsal & Sons. The ovens generate enough heat, and have enough space, to bake pizza pies from 12 to 18 inches. Selections include the popular Margherita pizza and the pizza alla vodka, as well as whole-wheat pizzas with mozzarella and tomato. Monaco’s also sells pizza by the slice for various prices, depending on the toppings.

There are a number of other items on the menu besides pizza, such as baked clams, garlic knots, and zucchini sticks. Monaco’s also serves roasted chicken wings, and pinwheels with various fillings such as broccoli or sausage. The eatery also offers calzones in different sizes.

Monaco’s Hicksville shop is open Sunday to Wednesday from 11.30 am to 9:00 pm. From Thursday to Saturday, the hours are 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. The shop is at 414 Jerusalem Avenue.

Shops like these can benefit by working with flyer printing companies, which can create handouts to distribute near new stores.
