Four students from Glen Cove High School in Hicksville will have their art shown to the public as part of an exhibit.
The four in question are Julie Micko, Samantha Barry, Jahniese Barnes, and Peter Archambault. Their work will be exhibited in Hicksville at the Broadway Mall, as part of the ‘Art in Heart’ presentation by the Long Island Teacher Association.
The works are photographs, with one being a series of shots of a man with his back to the camera. He remains the same, but the background of each photo is different. The second is a series of photos of a dummy model (a figure without features that can be posed), in different positions suggesting actions. The third work on display is a digital photograph for which Micko and Archambault were given an Award of Excellence.
A reception was given for the students on March 29, and interested parties can see the photos for themselves at the mall.
From now through Friday, April 17, Tuesdays through Fridays, there are available from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. On Saturday, April 18, the exhibit is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and on Sunday, April 19, people can see the work from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm.
Exhibit organizers might like to work with a banner printing company on a display banner honoring the students.
