Hicksville cookie monsters enjoy sweet treat

Hicksville folks with a sweet tooth have seen their dreams come true, with a chocolate chip cookie shop now open in the community.

The Nestle Toll House Cafe by Chip is now on site in the frozen yogurt company Red Mango.

The cookies are baked all day long, so chances are good that customers can buy them while they are warm and the chocolate is still melting. People who want to make sure they get cookies right out of the oven can call ahead and order a tray to go. The cookies are $1.89 each, or a tray is priced at $9.45.

Nestle Toll House Cafe by Chip operate under the umbrella of Crest Foods, Inc., which is based in Texas. Growing rapidly, it now has over 100 shops throughout the world, with locations in Lebanon, Kuwait, Canada, Dubai, and many U.S. states. There are two other stores on Long Island, one in Hewlett, and the other in Bay Shore.

Amyn Kajani, who manages the new cafe, said he opened Red Mango nine months ago, but only recently added the cookie cafe. He said he expanded to please customers, especially children. Some came in asking for yogurt while others asked for ice cream. Having both treats available makes it simpler for families to get what they want.

Kajani might create Flyers with coupons attached for distribution at the store to invite people to try the cookies.
