Sparks marketplace turns into party
A Valentine’s-themed event in Sparks will combine dancing and shopping.
Cupid’s Groove Sweetheart Market & Dance will run for two days. It will be produced as an extension of the Season of Love. Over seventy small vendors will be in attendance, each offering handmade Chicano arts and crafts, jewelry, specialty goods, and other locally produced merchandise.
Classic hits from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s will play throughout the event, with food and drink vendors offering meal and snack options, along with a bar for those twenty-one and over. Vendors can decorate their booths with poster printing.
The daytime market will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with vendors, children’s activities, treats, and music geared toward families and the general public. When the evening market starts at 6 p.m., the space will transition to a nighttime presentation. The overhead lighting in the facility will be reduced and vendor booths will be lit in a way that visually differentiates from the daytime market. The dance floor will have the disco lighting and professional-grade audio system by Star Sound Audio Inc. Musicians for the night market will include DJ Mise and DJ Dialect HD.
