Via Focaccia, an eatery known for its sandwiches, will be coming to the Ellis Island Hotel in Las Vegas later this month.
Ismaele Romano, winner of the sandwich category at the World Pizza Expo for 2021 and formerly of Good Pie and Eataly, will be serving his artisanal Italian sandwiches. Born in Sicily, Romano said that the cuisine will be reminiscent of the flavors he experienced during Sunday meals in Italy when he was a child and will focus on traditional preparations and fresh Italian ingredients.
Focaccia bread will be made daily on which the sandwiches will be served. Among the signature sandwiches will be the Americano, with roasted turkey, avocado, Front Yard bacon, Vermont cheddar, and garlic aioli; the Genovese, with roasted tomato and eggplant, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and basil pesto aioli; and arancini Siciliani, served with crispy fingerling potatoes tossed with garlic, rosemary, and Parmesan. Such new eateries may turn to poster printing to inform hotel guests of their opening and offerings.
The eatery will also be partnering with Carl’s Donuts to offer doughnuts with flavors such as Nutella, lemon curd, and tiramisu and other flavors of the season.
Via Focaccia is planning to open on Wednesday October 20. Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Breakfast will be served from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
