Multi-talented musician coming to Las Vegas

A 16-time Grammy-winning musician, arranger, composer, music executive, and record producer will appear in Las Vegas soon.

David Foster has been involved in the music business since he was a teenager. A native of Victoria, British Columbia, he enrolled in the music program at the University of Washington in Seattle when he was 13. Two years later, he auditioned for Tommy Banks, a jazz musician who owned a nightclub. Banks mentored Foster, teaching him what he would need to know about producing records, performing jazz, and the music business.

In 1974, he relocated to Los Angeles with Skylark, his band. Once settled in California, he began performing and producing records. He has worked with artists such as Chicago, Kenny Rogers, and Kenny Loggins, and has composed music for films, including the score for “St. Elmo’s Fire.”

American audiences might be most familiar with him due to his appearances on PBS. The network featured him in a special, “Hit Man: David Foster & Friends,” a concert during which Foster and other artists performed live. He also took part in several programs featuring Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.

A review says:

“David is so talented. He shared with us his career highlights. An incredibly, memorable time spent watching him perform. What an artist.”

Foster will appear at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas on December 16 and 17. Events like these need to be publicized, which organizers can do easily using poster printing.
