Festival raises funds for children with special needs

The 16th annual Lucky Duck Family Festival is taking place next month in downtown Las Vegas. It is a fundraiser for the Southern Nevada Foundation for Positively Kids.

The host of the event will be Paul Scally. There will be lots of family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon, such as a dance-a-thon and children’s games. There will also be food for sale and other entertainment.

Of course, the main event will be the ducks. Participants can purchase a rubber duck for $5 or buy six of $25. The ducks, which are expected to number 5,000, will then be floated in the Town Square pond. Each duck will have a number and the owner of the one that is picked out of the pond will win a grand prize of $250,000.

Ducks will be available for purchase during the month of August at various places. One pre-adoption event will be held on the Town Square lawn on August 13 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. There will be entertainment from the Quackie Duck Crew.

Organizers may invest in flyer printing services from a favorite Las Vegas printer to help advertise in the community.

The Lucky Duck Family Festival will be held at the Town Square on September 10 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Call 702-848-2098 to find out about planned activities and where to purchase ducks.
