Volunteers to clean up Hamilton Park

The NJ Watershed Ambassador Program will be hosting a cleaning event in Hamilton this April at the John A. Roebling Memorial Park.

The Roebling Park Clean Up is an activity that encourages the community to come together and remove pollution from local natural areas. The event will have attendees pick up trash in the John A. Roebling Memorial Park and the Abbot Marshlands. Unwanted materials can enter the wetlands from the Delaware River, requiring constant efforts from volunteers to keep the environment clean. Those participating in the event should wear long pants and bring water bottles.

The Tulpehaking Nature Center has partnered with the organizers to create a flash exhibit related to the cleanups. The exhibition will display all of the plastic collected at previous cleaning events and will have an activity where guests can guess the poundage of the display for a prize. There will also be information about waste and recycling at the nature center. Organizations with educational activities like this can use poster printing to advertise the event at schools and libraries.

The Roebling Park Clean Up will be held on Sunday, April 18 from 9:00 am to noon. All ages can participate in the cleaning event, and there is no fee to join. An adult must accompany children who are under 15. Attendees are encouraged to bring work gloves, trash grabbers, and safety Vests.
