Chris Vernon, the owner of the Hilton Garden Inn in Hamilton, recently announced that he will be building a Hilton Homewood Suites about one mile away on Route 130.

According to Vernon, the new hotel is designed for those who need long-term hotel stays in the area such as construction workers, people in town for business or weddings or those who may be in need of temporary residence for long periods of time. The rooms themselves will be suites and offer kitchenettes, a living space, and bedroom space. There will also be a lounge, library, indoor pool, basketball court, and other amenities.

The property on which the hotel is to be built, the site of the Trenton World-Class Harley-Davidson dealership, has been vacant since 2009 when the dealership closed and Vernon was the first of several developers to submit a building application for the land. Vernon saw early on that the widening of the New Jersey Turnpike in the area and its location at the intersection of two other major arteries would make it an excellent site for a new hotel.
No doubt Vernon will be using business card printing for those who will be working at the hotel when it expects to open in either late 2014 or early 2015.

Vernon also commented that people who stay in the new hotel would become part of the community, purchasing food and beverages and eating out on a regular basis during their extended stays. He added that the hotel also fills a need for rooms as the demand can exceed supply in the months of July and August when tourism rates and the number of weddings are both high.
