New hotel in Hamilton welcomes extended stayers

The Hilton Homewood Suites in Hamilton recently opened its doors to guests, without fanfare or a grand opening celebration.

According to Jared Keating, the general manager of the hotel, the Homewood Suites is an extended-stay hotel. Close to 40% of the guests, who can include business travelers and people relocation after a natural disaster, stay for at least five days.

As such, the hotel has the types of amenities guest would have in their own homes. There is a basketball court, pool and fitness center, public gas grill, and fire pit and putting green, so that guests need not travel to find recreational activities, Keating added. In addition, a complimentary hot breakfast and a complimentary dinner buffet, with beer and wine, are offered daily.

All of the rooms are suites, ranging from studios to two bedrooms, with full kitchenette and dining ware. According to Lori Oberg, sales director for the hotel, most guests take advantage of the dinner buffet, so that the lobby becomes like a living room or dining room where all the guests dine together.

Both Keating and Oberg have been calling local companies over the last few months to let them know that the hotel is in business. Those launching new accommodation often also use local Print companies to produce Flyers and other printed materials with more information for frequent travelers
