Several Trenton and Hamilton area organizations have joined forces to help improve the wellbeing and health of high school students in the area.

At the end of October, Reed Gusciora, the mayor of Trenton, visited the 9th Grade Academy to officially kick-off the traveling health and wellness program. The goals of it are to increase access to healthcare for students, reduce the number of absences, and improve the health outcomes of students.

During the launch of the program at the 9th Grade Academy, Tre Sullivan, the safety for the Philadelphia Eagles and a Superbowl Champion, was on hand to offer encouragement to students.

Organizations that create programs for students can use flyer printing to let both parents and students know about the programs and services offered. Among the services provided by the new wellness program is dental care. Mobile dental offices, operated by local practices, will provide students with oral screenings, mouth cleanings, and other dental care. The exams and cleanings are available to students at no cost, but parental consent is required.

Another aspect of the program is the Healthy Attitude campaign, which aims to provide students with immunizations, vision, and dental care.

The overall goal of the new program is not to replace students' primary care doctors and providers, but to provide students and other in the community with connections to available health resources.
