The Hamilton Township Economic Development Distinguished Achievement Awards for 2014 were recently announced and have been given to eight different companies for their contributions to the local area.
According to the director of the township office of economic development, Michael Angarone, these awards are a way in which these individuals or businesses can be acknowledged for their involvement in the town in some manner.
The Hamilton Township Economic Development Advisory Committee is composed of 20 people who select the group of winners. Each member writes about the company they favor for the award and then the group votes on the winners. Anagrone said that both the committee members and the businesses take the process seriously and the business appreciates that the town is acknowledging their work.
Two companies tied for the Local Business Award and are Encore Florist and Giancola and Sons. The Corporate Award was given to RE/MAX Tri-County, the Non-Profit Award to the Hamilton Kiwannis Club, and the New Business Award to Bai Brands.
William Rue will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and Michael Heenehan will take the Business Volunteer of the Year Award. One award is made solely by the mayor and is the Mayor’s Beautification Award, which will be given to Daniel Popkin.
