Ewing Little League received a grant worth almost $110,000 in 2015 to use to restore its overgrown, poorly maintained ball field. The grant, which totaled $109,897, came from the ‘Baseball Tomorrow Fund’, sponsored by Major League Baseball. The league also received a number of other donations and had players participate in fundraising efforts to earn money for the project.
Local sports leagues can use printing companies to share news of developments and to help raise funds for important projects. Although the revamp of the baseball field is finished, the little league still has a number of projects up its sleeve, including getting a concession stand up and running.
The revitalization of the baseball field, known as Fasolino Field, included regrading the green, fixing up buildings, improving plumbing, and replacing old Signs. The final phase of the project was installing lighting on the field.
In a statement released by the little league, a representative noted that:
"Our field of dreams is amazing and has brought so much excitement and pride back to Ewing Township."
The statement went on to say that the league still has plenty more goals it hopes to meet. To that end, the league is happily accepting additional donations to help fund future projects.
