Racing NJ is bringing back an old race in Hamilton that will take place at Veterans Park in January.
The Hangover at Hamilton 5K Run is a competitive running event that will be resurrected in 2025. The race is part of the 2025 USATF Grand Prix Series and can be joined by runners of various skill levels. The first 200 finishers in the 5K will get a commemorative medal from the organizers, and there will also be awards for people who wear the best New Year’s costumes. Special awards will be offered to the first firefighter, police officer, teacher, nurse, veteran, and EMS worker to complete the run.
The competitive 5K event will benefit the JCD Memorial Foundation. The organization is a nonprofit charity that assists those struggling with addiction. The group offers preventative and ongoing support services. The foundation was formed in 2014 after a family member of the founders passed from an overdose. The charity holds fundraising events to help pay for the treatment of addiction, such as the annual JCD Memorial Golf Outing.
The Hangover at Hamilton 5K will be held on Wednesday, January 1st at 11:00 am. Regular pricing for the race is $35 per person, and the cost to join the virtual version will be $40. The registration cost of the event will increase after December 30th. Running organizations in charge of similar fundraiser 5Ks may use Print shops to make advertisements for the races.
