Hamilton to hold Irish-themed festival

The Trenton AOH will celebrate Irish culture with a two-day festival in October at Hamilton Square.

The 40th Annual AOH Irish Festival is a community program that promotes Irish culture with several activities and live performances. There will be food vendors at the fest who will sell Irish dishes and a designated area for children. This year, the children's activities will include pumpkin decorating. The first 75 kids at the event will receive a free pumpkin for their crafts project. Attendees may also watch dance routines from the Koltenicki School of Irish Dance.

Jamison and The Shantys will provide the live music entertainment for the Irish festival. Jamison is a group that began in 2003 and has been featured at events like the Cape Coral Irish Festival, Philadelphia Penn's Landing Irish Festival, and the Harrisburg Celtic Fling. The Shantys is an Irish pub band that formed in 2001 and performed at fests such as the North Wildwood's Irish Festival. The group covers Irish bands like The Wolf Tones and The Pogues.

The annual Irish fest will start with a pub night on Friday, October 4th from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The music fest will be on Saturday, October 5th from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Admission is $5 per person, and kids 15 and under may attend for free. Vendors can pay $50 for spaces at the festival. Those with booth spaces at similar cultural experiences can bring promotional Pens to share with event-goers.
