Penn Medicine Princeton Health will be organizing a course in Hamilton at the Community Wellness at the Hamilton Area YMCA.
In-Person: Hypnobirthing® is an event that is part of the Community Wellness Program offered by Penn Medicine Princeton Health. During the class, expectant couples will learn how to induce deeper levels of relaxation to help with the birthing process. Students in the course will be taught handy breathing exercises and self-hypnosis techniques that prepare the mind and body for birth. Attendees should bring a personal exercise mat and two pillows to the class.
The Community Wellness Program provides the public with educational events and screenings. All activities used in the program have been developed by experienced physicians and other health professionals. The group also works with organizations such as the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and the American Cancer Society. Other programs created by the organization include virtual support groups and Q&A sessions with lactation consultants.
The hypnobirthing course will begin on January 8 and end on February 5. Each lesson will last from 9:30 am to noon. The cost to register for the activity will be $200. The other session dates for the program will take place on January 15, 22, and 29. Health-related activities like this can be marketed to couples via poster printing.
