Hamilton organization to help drivers fit their vehicles

The CarFit program will be holding an in-person session at the Hamilton Area YMCA in June.

Drivers interested in learning how to accommodate their vehicles to their bodies can attend the CarFit program for a live fitting. Those who take part in the fitting session will gain more control over their cars and experience more comfort while driving. A technician from Penn Medicine Princeton Health will be observing each participant individually and will provide attendees with questionnaires. All guests are requested to drive their own vehicles to the session.

CarFit is an educational program that works with older drivers to increase their comfort and safety when operating cars. The courses teach students about crucial topics like properly adjusting mirrors, good foot positioning on the gas and brake pedals, and the minimum distance a driver needs to sit from their wheel. The workshops are available as an in-person or virtual experience. Anyone can become involved in the community program by becoming an event coordinator or a CarFit technician.

The in-person fitting session will be held on Thursday, June 23 from 10:00 am to noon. No prior registration is needed to join CarFit’s event, and the program will not cost money to attend. Organizations that promote safe habits such as this may use printing services to make informative pamphlets for people to take home.
