Hamilton native releases album

Lots of people dream of having their songs be featured on a hit TV show, but for Karly Colema, aka Karly C, a native of Hamilton, that dream has become reality.

Her song, titiled ‘Simply Invincible’, was the backing music for a winning dance routine during the show ‘Dance Moms’, which airs on the Lifetime Network. Karly C and her producer worked fast to write and record the song.

That one song led to more, and Karly C's music regularly appeared during routines throughout last year’s ‘Dance Moms’ season.

Today, she has a new album out, released on the Adrenalin Vocals label with Warner Chappel Production Music. The album, which features 10 songs, is available on streaming services including Google Play, iTunes and Spotify. Artists who are touring and who have recently released albums can use poster printing to get the word out.

Karly C will make a return to her hometown area, with a performance at the Plumsted Grill, in New Egypt, next Saturday, March 24.

Speaking to the Times of Trenton about her new album, Karly C described it as being:

"…mostly about empowerment . . .although there are a few lighthearted songs. I didn't want to do another cliche female album where the woman is crying and upset over a breakup. I wanted to have an album that showed strength and power.

The show time for her performance at the Plumsted Grill is 9:00 pm.
