The Grounds for Sculpture museum in Hamilton will be holding a course this February that educates people on the benefits of herbalism.
Those interested in educating themselves about natural medicines can attend the Introduction to Herbalism course. Students will be taught about how to use oxymels to keep themselves healthy during winter. Attendees will explore the benefits of five different spicy oxymels during the class, and all participants can craft a personal spicy herbal oxymel to bring home. Organizations that offer programs like this can use flyer printing to get people interested in attending workshops.
The Introduction to Herbalism course will be instructed by Amanda Midkiff from Locust Light Farms. Midkiff originally worked as an organic vegetable farmer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She later moved to New Hope to create the Roots to River Farm, a business that seeks to provide the public with high-quality goods while using farming techniques that nurtures the farm’s soil and ecology.
The Grounds for Sculpture museum will host the Introduction to Herbalism class on Saturday, February 1st from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Tickets will cost $45, though members of the museum can pay $35 to join the workshop instead. The course price will include all the tools and materials needed for the class, while also covering the admission costs for the museum.
